Xiangxi sees booming tourism during Dragon Boat Festival holiday

Various scenic areas in Xiangxi Prefecture gained great popularity during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday. The 40 tourist areas monitored received a total of 403,600 visitors, an increase of 1.29% year on year, with a revenue of 32.3388 million yuan, up 17.12% year on year.


 
According to the feedback from the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, the Fenghuang Ancient Town Tourist Area and the Furong Town Scenic Area in Xiangxi Prefecture ranked third and ninth in the province respectively in terms of the cumulative tourist flow of A-level scenic areas.

During the holiday, a series of local characteristic folk festivities were held in Xiangxi Prefecture based on its cultural and tourism resources to enhance tourists’ awareness and recognition of traditional festival culture.


 
Furong Town in Yongshun County launched the 2nd Wuling Mountain Area (Xiangxi) Tujia and Miao Cultural and Ecological Protection Festival, allowing audiences to enjoy a cultural and ecological feast online and offline.

Besides, the dragon boat race and the duck catching activity were held in Fenghuang County, which were highlighted by CCTV and other news media.


 
Xiangxi Prefecture continued efforts to enrich product supply and create new models and scenes of cultural and tourism consumption during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday. The Aizhai-Shibadong-Dehang Grand Canyon Scenic Area, Tawo Scenic Area, and Ciyantang Red Tourist Area received a total of 43,500 tourists and achieved a revenue of 2.165 million yuan, an increase of 17.95% and 16.63% year on year respectively.
